Sharad Kelkar was interacting with NewsHelpline during a promotional press-conference for Operation Romeo, also starring Bhumika Chawla, Sidhant Gupta, Vedika Pinto, and Kishore Kadam. The forthcoming release, Operation Romeo, which is a coming-of-age drama about police brutality.
Talking about his dark and intense cop avatar in the film, Sharad Kelkar said, “I am playing the role of Mangesh Jadav, he is a very cynical and unpredictable character, he is dark and probably been very challenging role to do, because I am not at all like that and to play someone who is stark opposite of you, is really challenging as you don’t get any reference from within, you must create some and that is a difficult process. Apart from the havoc on the surface, the movie deals with a bigger issue, and I must admit, this has been the most difficult role I’ve ever done”
Helmed by Shashant Shah and bankrolled by Friday Filmworks and Shital Bhatia, the film is based in the suburbs of Mumbai, this is a ‘coming of age’ film about a young tweenage couple Aditya and Neha who set out one night for an innocent date to celebrate Neha’s birthday. But what transpires that night, changes not just their relationship, but both of them as adults.
The trailer of the film has been winning accolades across, sharing his excitement about it, Sharad said, “When people appreciate good cinema, it feels good, not just an actor but being a part of the industry. The trailer of Operation Romeo is not just getting praises from audience but people from industry as well. And it feels great”
The film will release theatrically on 22nd April 2022.
