Patna, April 4 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Patna police registered an FIR against CPI (ML) MLA Gopal Ravidas for violation of the model code of conduct during the MLC elections on Monday.
Ravidas is representing Phulwari Sharif Vidhan Sabha constituency in Patna district. He went inside the polling station premises located in Phulwari Sharif block in a SUV bearing the flag of his party to vote for his candidate.
When he was asked about the violation of the model code of conduct, he denied it, saying that he has not violated any polling norms.
Patna district magistrate Chandrashekher Singh said that the incident came to the notice of the polling officials. "An FIR has been registered against Gopal Ravidas for poll code violation," he said.
In another incident, a woman panchayat member was taken into custody in Aurangabad district after she tried to run away with the ballot paper.
Rinku Devi, the panchayat samiti member of Belai block in the district, went to the polling station located at Nabinagar. When the polling officers gave her the ballot paper to cast her vote, she tried to run away with the ballot paper.
The polling and presiding officers spotted her with the ballot paper and alerted the security personnel who took her into custody.
The officer said that an FIR has been registered against the panchayat member.
The polling for the 24 seats of in the MLC elections started at 8 a.m. on Monday and will end at 5 p.m.
