The Tamil film is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Ajay's movie is being directed by Dharmendra and will be a completely fresh take, very different from the original Kaithi – however, keeping the core in mind of the prisoner-cop relationship.
The film was originally announced in 2020, but due to pandemic it got delayed, only now the team is able to kick-start the shoot.
Meanwhile on the work front, Ajay Devgn, will be next seen in Amit Sharma's Maidaan, which is a sports biopic based on the life of football legend Syed Abdul Rahim.

and Drishyam 2 to name some.
Ajay Devng will act, produce and direct aerial drama based on real incident. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh, Angira Dhar and Aakanksha Singh.
