Singer Lata Mangeshkar contracted the deadly COVID-19 virus, which later caused pneumonia. She was on ventilator for a week and passed away due to multiple orang failures. Dr. Pratit Samdani of Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital was treating the singer.
Kannada superstar Ravi Teja took to his social media and wrote, “Sad to know about the demise of Lata Mangeshkar ji... one of the greatest singers the world has known... May her soul rest in peace. My deepest condolences to the family”
Expressing his grief, actor Ajay Devgn shared, “An icon forever. I will always savour the legacy of her songs. How fortunate were we to have grown up listening to Lataji’s songs. Om Shanti. My deepest condolences to the Mangeshkar family”
