Imagine Meats Is A Lockdown Baby Says Genelia Deshmukh

Actor turned entrepreneur Genelia Deshmukh says her venture Imagine Meats is a lockdown baby for her, on the sidelines of Green Co-Op Event here in Mumbai.

Last year during lockdown, Genelia Deshmukh along with her husband Riteish Deshmukh announced their new venture Imagine Meats, a new plant-based meat brand.

During her interactiong with Newshelpline at the event, we asked about journey of new venture, Genelia said, “Imagine Meats is the lockdown baby from me. When I and my husband decided to turn vegan, we took the decision during lockdown and I think Riteish missed his meat a lot, hence Imagine meats was born”

“Here is something, where you can eat and feel the taste of meat without any kind of animal protein, it cooks fast, and it is high on protein” added Genelia.

Plant based meat, promoted as a healthier, more environmentally sustainable alternative to actual meat, doesn’t involve killing of animal and taste just like meat.

Further adding, Genelia said, “Jio world drive has done an amazing thing, we need to do this for our planet, we need to change our diet and some of us, need to put different food out there for people to try”

“I’d work hard to this project; I was involved with everything. Right from the recipe and research. Idea was to get it as close as possible to meat without actually killing an animal” said Genelia.
