Sushmita Sen starrer Aarya series has been nominated for Emmy in Best Drama series. The drama also marked the come-back for world beauty.
The series on Disney Plus Hotstar, is an official remake of Dutch drama series titled Penoza. It revolved around Aarya, an independent woman who seeks to protect her family and joins a mafia gang in order to get revenge for her husband's murder.
Produced by Madhvani under the banner Ram Madhvani Films, along with Endemol Shine Group, the series received critical and commercial success and has been renewed for second season.
The official handle of Disney Plus Hotstar dropped the confirmation of Emmy Nomination. Earlier, Sushmita received the award for Best Actress – Female, at the Filmfare OTT Awards, with the series receiving eight nominations.
The series also starred Chandrachur Singh, Sikandar Kher, Ankur Bhatia, Alexx ONell, Namit Das, Manish Choudhary, Viren Vazirani, Sugandha Garg, Flora Saini and more.
