South sensation Samantha Akkineni made her debut as baddie in The Family Man 2, playing the role of militant Raji, and now she has bagged the prestigious IIFM Award for Best Performance in a series.
Indian Film Festival of Melbourne or IIFM has just award Samantha for The Family Man 2 series with Best Performance Female category and the actress is grateful for it.
Samantha Akkineni took to her social media profile and confirmed the news, she penned a note, expressing her gratitude toward the makers of the series, Raj And DK.
She captioned it, “Thankyou @iffmelbourne...I am so so grateful...Thankyouuu @rajanddk for being able to see beyond the 'cute girl’ image that many couldn’t look past...as an actor I dreamed of being given such an opportunity...the chance to play a layered and intense role. #Raji forced me to dig deep...and I am beyond happy today to receive a certificate of approval for the performance “
The Family Man series is an espionage action thriller created by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. for the streaming service Amazon Prime Video. It features Manoj Bajpayee as Srikant Tiwari, a middle-class man secretly working as an intelligence officer for the Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell (TASC), a fictitious branch of the National Investigation Agency.
The series also stars Priyamani, Sharad Kelkar, Neeraj Madhav, Sharib Hashmi, Dalip Tahil, Sunny Hinduja and Shreya Dhanwanthary.
On the work front, Samatha is currently busy with a mythological film titled Shaakuntalam, directed by Gunasekhar. She will be seen as Shakuntala.
