Arko Pravo Mukherjee has given us some amazing songs. His song 'Teri Mitti' from the film Kesari has become a cult. He is now coming up with a single titled 'Dhat' which is a romantic number.
He spoke to News Helpline about the song, its casting and the evolution of the music industry in the past years.
Talking about the new trend of Singles, Arko said, "This song was written and composed by me a couple of years back. In films, one does not get a chance to explore. The director tells you what he wants and you have to compose accordingly. However, through singles you get a chance to explore many subjects"
Talking about the song he said, "Though there are thousands of love songs but what matters is the approach you choose. This song is very different from other love songs. I loved the concept of the song"
The song features Vishal Jethwa who portrayed a negative role in Mardaani 2. What was the reason behind casting him, he said, "When we started casting for the song, Vishal was my first choice. I had recently seen Mardaani 2 and I loved him in the film, how brilliantly he portrayed the contrast of his age and his looks with that role attracted me"
Talking about the change in the music industry, he said, "In the last three years the music industry has evolved. The good part is anybody can showcase their talent now but the bad part is there is too much information available. There are so many new songs getting released. Unless you have created something unique, it won't impact the audience. Therefore, for me making a song unique is always a priority"
His song Teri Mitti won a National Award. Talking about the song, he said, "Honestly, we had no idea that the song would become such a big hit. So many people had put in their best efforts for it but Akshay Sir had once mentioned that someone will surely get a National Award for this."
Talking about his future projects, he shared," I have many singles coming up with various music labels. My film Satyameva Jayate 2 will be releasing on Eid. The theme song for the film is a patriotic song and the same team who worked on 'Teri Mitti' has worked on it as well. Post that, I have also composed for 'Mission Majnu' and 'OM: The battle within'
