Ad hoc teachers in Delhi govt colleges won't be removed: AAP

New Delhi, Jan 3 (SocialNews.XYZ) Ad hoc teachers employed in Delhi government colleges would not be removed from their posts even as the Delhi Teachers Association has demanded that the Delhi government make permanent appointments of all ad hoc teachers.

According to the AAP Rajya Sabha MP from Delhi, Sushil Kumar Gupta, new recruitments are taking place in Delhi government colleges but he reaffirmed that ad hoc teachers would not be removed from any of the colleges run by the Delhi government.

The AAP MP said permanent appointments of principals have not been done since a long time in Delhi government colleges. The Delhi government is making efforts that there must be permanent appointment of principals in such colleges where advertisements for filling principals' post have already been released. Teachers and non-academic posts could be appointed soon only when there are permanent appointments of principals.

Gupta gave this information in a meeting with the members of the Delhi Teachers Association (DTA) where more than 50 teachers were present.

Citing the Union Ministry of Education's letter dated December 5, 2019, the AAP MP told the teachers that he would write a letter to pressure the Centre and the Delhi University to implement the said letter. He said because of not implementing the letter for the last one year, there is an atmosphere of fear among the teachers.

Gupta told that in the upcoming Parliament session, he would ask the central government for a reply as to why the process of permanent appointment of ad hoc teachers was not started.

What efforts did the central government take for the permanent appointment of these teachers, the AAP MP asked.

The process of permanent appointments in the colleges coming under the Delhi government's ambit would be started as soon as possible. In addition, the UGC will be asked to end the 2010 Ph.D requirement for Associate Professors.
