As feared by many, the backroom politics of Washington are at play once more. Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren who sponsored the HR.1044 bill that removes country limits on Green Cards is not happy with the Senate version of the bill S.386 sponsored by Senator Mike Lee.
She tweeted that even though she recognizes the sincerity of all members struggling to find solutions, unfortunately, the provisions sent to the House by the Senate most likely make matters worse, not better.
She promised that she will swiftly & thoughtfully work with her colleagues to resolve outstanding issues & get a measure across the finish line that can pass both houses of Congress.
But anyone who knows the inner workings of Washington can not deny that this bill will go nowhere since there is no incentive for both sides to get this done or to compromise.
The anti-immigration groups are already latching on to Congresswoman Lofgren's comments and are pushing to kill the bill.
