Critically acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap crossed one million followers on Instagram on Friday. He treated his fans by sharing an old picture of himself when he used to do random gigs for Rs. 500 per day in the beginning of his career in the Hindi film industry.
Sharing the picture of himself from filmmaker Mazhar Khan’s ‘Gang’ film on his Instagram handle, Kashyap wrote, “When I use to do random gigs for 500 bucks a day ....I shot for it in 1994. Film released 2000..”
In the picture, we can see that young Anurag Kashyap in the police uniform and he did a cameo role in ‘Gang’ which starred Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Kumar Gaurav, Jaaved Jaaferi and Juhi Chawla in lead roles.
Anurag Kashyap came into limelight when wrote 1998 blockbuster gangster drama film ‘Satya’. Later, he went on to direct critically acclaimed films such as ‘Black Friday’, ‘Dev.D’, ‘Gulaal’, ‘Ugly’ ‘Gangs of Wasseypur 1 and 2’, ‘Mukkabaaz’ and ‘Manmarziyaan’.
On personal front, actress Payal Ghosh recently registered an FIR against Kashyap and made an accusation that he had sexually assaulted her in 2013.
Anurag Kashyap’s last directorial ‘Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai’ starring Saiyami Kher and Roshan Mathew released on Netflix in 2020.
On acting front, he will be seen in Hari Viswanath’s next film ‘Bansuri: The Flute’ along with Upendra Limaye and Rituparna Sengupta. As per news reports, Kashyap is planning to make a sequel of Manmarziyaan (2018) with Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, and Vicky Kaushal.
