Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 2 (SocialNews.XYZ) Gone are the days when comrades in Kerala were the biggest critics of computers which were seen in the past as the demons which will take over jobs. Today the scene is just the opposite and a top leader has asked the party cadres to get active on Facebook to counter cyber attacks against the CPI-M.
The call to the comrades has come from the former Private Secretary to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and present Kannur district CPI-M Secretary M.V. Jayarajan, who is also a former legislator.
Jayarajan's recorded audio message to the comrades came after a 28-year-old unemployed man in the capital city committed suicide on Sunday following depression. The man had scored the 77th rank in the Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) exam and was waiting for his offer letter. But the offer letter never arrived which was the major reason for his depression, prompting him to take the extreme step.
This led to widespread anger, especially among the youth wings of several political parties, which alleged that the Pinarayi Vijayan government was more interested in getting jobs for their cadres through the back door by appointing them on a contract basis.
An example of this is the way in which the prime accused in the gold smuggling case - Swapna Suresh, who according to her own brother has not passed even Class X, was appointed allegedly on a salary of Rs 1.75 lakh a month to a post in the IT department which comes under Vijayan.
Since these incidents have attracted severe criticism in the cyber world, Jayarajan has asked the cadres to see that they too get into the act.
"From every local committee of ours at least 300 to 400 comrades should see that they share the comments on Facebook, which will be given by the party in capsule form. The same person writing several messages will have little impact, but when different people comment on the same issue, it will be very good, as in the present situation, where a youth committed suicide, lot of planned comments on this will come, so we also have to plan and put our comments," was the audio message of the close aide of Vijayan.
