Shunning the news about OTT premiere, the makers of Thalaivi has issued a statement claiming that the Kangana Ranaut starrer biopic will have its theatrical release first and perhaps than release digitally.
News was viral that due to Covid-19 induced lockdown, the makers of Thalaivi are aiming for digital release, just like Gulabo Sitabo starring Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana, but it’s not true.
On behalf of Thalaivi makers, trade analyst Taran Adarsh just confirmed the details of the release. He tweeted, “IMPORTANT...News that #Thalaivi - #Jayalalithaa biopic - will premiere on #OTT is FALSE... Will release in theatres first... Digital release to follow *after* theatrical release... #Thalaivi stars #KanganaRanaut.”
Thalaivi is a biographical film directed by A. L. Vijay and produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh under their respective banners Vibri Media and Karma Media And Entertainment.
The story is about the life of J. Jayalalithaa, late politician and film actress who served six terms as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, with Kangana Ranaut playing the role of Jayalalithaa. The film also stars Arvind Swami, Prakash Raj, Jisshu Sengupta, Poorna, Madhoo, Samuthirakani and Bhagyashree in pivotal roles.
Actor Kangana Ranaut is also busy with Dhakkad, which is set to release on Diwali 2020, the film is mounted on a large scale and will be shot across multiple locations in India and abroad. Touted to be an action entertainer, the film will feature many high-octane sequences.
