COVID – 19: Wynn And Encore Casinos In Las Vegas To Close

In internal communication, Wynn And Encore Casinos CEO Matt Maddox has announced that the casinos will be closed due to the ongoing threat of Coronavirus (COVID-19). He also announced the employees will be paid during this period.

According to the document obtained by SocialNews.XYZ the casinos will be closed on March 17th and will reopen on April 1st to the public.

Here is the text of the internal memo:

As of today, all of our country's national medical authorities, as well as our own respected infectious diseases consultant, strongly recommend social distancing, which involves maintaining a sufficient distance apart from each other to impede the transmission of the virus. All have recommended temporarily and severely restricting public social contact.

Consequently, and in order to keep you and your families as safe as possible, I have decided to close Wynn Las Vegas and Encore, beginning Tuesday, March 17. We will close to the public at 6 pm, and then work to internally shut down our operations.

By Wednesday, we will operate with a reduced staff to keep the building secure. As part of our safety and security protocol, there will be employees who ne. to be on the property and others who will work from home. If you are one of the employees who will ne. to continue to report to work during the closure or work from home, your manager will contact you within the next 24 hours.

Here is what I need you to do:

  • Continue your personal health safety protocol, even when you are not at work. That means frequently washing your hands for at least 20 seconds; do not touch your face, nose or mouth; and stay at least six feet away from anyone exhibiting symptoms of sneezing or cough.
  • Work all shifts that you are scheduled that begin before Tuesday at 5 pm. On your next regular shift, you will be given more detailed instructions on how to stay in touch and what to expect during the closure.
  • Do not come to the resort for any shift that begins after 5 pm on Tuesday, March 17. At this time, I estimate that we will re-open Wednesday, April 1. However, we will monitor the situation and make a decision on re-opening in about 10 days.
  • If you are one of the employees identified that need to continue to report to work or work from home during the closure, please continue to follow your manager's direction regarding your work schedule.
  • It is critically important that we are able to communicate with you during this closure. Please go to The Wire and update your mobile phone number and other contact information. Our goal is to communicate with you via text message regarding re.opening reporting instructions.
  • Please use the Wire to ask any questions. Your supervisor or HR will respond to you.

Instructions to update your Contact Information on the wire:

  1. Log in at wirelv.com.
  2. From the drop-down menu on the home page, click on the Personal Information link.
  3. Click on the Phone Numbers link.
  4. Review info on file. To make edits, click on the Phone number You need to change, and follow onscreen prompts.

As I have communicated, all full-time employees will continue to receive their regular pay during the closure.
