Poland reports first death due to COVID-19

Poznan, March 12 (SocialNews.XYZ) First death in Poland due to coronavirus was reported on Thursday.

A 57-year-old woman infected with coronavirus, who was in a critical condition in a Poznan hospital, died, said Jedrzej Solarski, deputy mayor of Poznan, reported private broadcaster TVN24.

 

The woman was the first case of a person with SARS-Cov-2 in Greater Poland. The coronavirus was confirmed on Monday.

The woman was in the infectious ward of the Multidisciplinary City Hospital of Jozef Strus in Poznan. She had very severe clinical signs of pneumonia, was connected to a ventilator and entered a pharmacological coma.

It is known that the woman has not recently been abroad and had no contact with a person who would have suspected or diagnosed COVID-19 disease. According to preliminary findings, several days ago she had contact with a person who returned from Italy.

47 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed so far across the country.
