​Thappad Is A Conversation Between The Filmmaker And Audience Says Dia Mirza

Actress Dia Mirza says the forthcoming social drama Thappad is a conversation the filmmaker is trying to have the audience and it’s high time we had such conversations.

The makers of Thappad organized a special screening of the film in Mumbai, which was followed by a media interaction. The event was graced by Anubhav Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Dia Mirza, Pavail Gulati, Anurag Kashyap and more.

Talking about the film and it’s response so far, Dia Mirza said, “This story is a conversation, which the filmmaker is trying to have each and every one of us, which somewhere needs to start, and it has started now. People have seen the film, and it has started, and any number of people who will watch this film, male or female, will have ample number of questions and answers in their head, and a lot of emotions”

“And the people who have watched this film so far they have had so many emotions evoking in their hearts, even we’re surprised by it. I think this is one important film, this film is an emotion which has been evoked in our hearts and it will remain there” added Dia.

Anubhav Sinha’s latest film Thappad tells the story of a woman who decides to divorce her husband after he slaps her. The film also delves into the rampant domestic violence in India and people’s prospective about it.

The cast also includes Ratna Pathak Shah, Manav Kaul, Dia Mirza, Tanvi Azmi and Ram Kapoor.

Thappad is co-produced by Anubhav Sinha and Bhushan Kumar, it is scheduled to hit the screens on February 28.
