'Takht' will be sensitive towards religion across the world, says Karan Johar.

Filmmakers, producer, writer and actor Karan Johar whose career has consisted mostly of romantic movies, says that, his upcoming historical drama, 'Takht', will be sensitive towards religions across the world. The director always had a dream to do a historical film. He now, is very excited to be a part of a film that is set in Mughal era. And exhilarated to bring alive that era in front of the audience.

When asked how sensitive he is about the portrayal of religion in 'Takht', on this Karan said, "My sensitivities to religions across the world will always be on point. That’s something I believe in as a human being, as a citizen of this great country, and generally as a world citizen. It has always been a dream to do a historical film, and now I am a part of a film that is set in Mughal era, which I have only heard of but never seen.

Sensitivities to everyone and everything is something that we all take very deep care of. Also, with 'Takht', this isn’t a story that I wrote. History wrote this story, I’m only telling it, Karan added."

Takht is helmed by Karan Johar. The movie stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles. The movie has its screenplay done by Sumit Roy. Takht is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar & Apoorva Mehta under the banner Dharma Productions. The movie will hit the big screen on 24 December 2021.
