Bollywood veteran actor Anil Kapoor who will be next seen in Mohit Suri's ‘Malang’, said that initially he wanted to play Kunal's part in the film.
Anil Kapoor was interacting with the media at the official trailer launch of ‘Malang’ on Monday in Mumbai.
The actor in the film will be portraying a role of a negative cop.
Talking to the media the actor expressed his choices saying, "When I first heard the script, I wanted to do Kunal's role. He has done a brilliant job with the role now, but I wanted to do that one. Mohit, Luv (Ranjan, producer) and all of them wanted me to do this character of Agashe.”
“My heart was there but they told me to do this. I would thank them that they convinced me and I went with their conviction. I'm very happy I did this role," he added.
Conversing further on opting this film, Anil said, “After listening the script, I was bit confused, because the script sounded me as Mohit Suri style film (Mohit Suri is known for directing the romantic thrillers). Hence, I always had a desire to act in such kind of films, but unfortunately I never got an opportunity to accomplish in this category. As it was my first time and as I was acting after many many years, I was very anxious and nervous. I must say, I enjoyed every moment of the film while working. Usually, I enjoy doing every film, but this film was very special for me.”
‘Malang’ is a romantic psychological action thriller film, directed by Mohit Suri, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Luv Ranjan, Krishan Kumar, Ankur Garg and Jay Shewakraman starring Anil Kapoor, Disha Patani, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kunal Khemu. It is scheduled to release on 7 February 2020.
