Film: Thrissur Pooram

Cast: Jayasurya, Swathi Reddy, Gayathri Arun

Director: Rajesh Mohanan

Rating: **1/2

Summary - Thrissur Pooram movie is the narrative of Pullu Giri (Jayasurya), who gets yanked into the dark universe of crime after a setback including nearby baddie takes his mother's life. An adult Giri is a dedicated husband and father to a girl and maintains a business, Yet, the crime scene of his home turf is in no disposition to allow him to rest. This is a film made to take into account Jayasurya fans, endeavoring to make a mass image for the actor.

Script Analysis - Ratheesh Vega has written the story himself which is somewhat done to death in Indian film. Supplant Thrissur Pooram with a city, and you'll get numerous Masala films spinning around a comparable idea. Yet, it's the character of Jayasurya that makes this one intriguing than numerous others. Swag normally overflows out from the undeniable beard in Giri. One significant downside of the film is its length! With more than two and a half hours, significant sequences in the second half include the superfluous dramatization screen. The vibe of the film is generally excellent. Once more, slow-mo actions are utilized only for it and thus, feel tedious after a point of time.

Direction - Rajesh Mohanan's direction debut is slight! To accomplish something else, it just makes the story increasingly mind-boggling. A straightforward narrating process would've had an extraordinary effect on the general feel. I attempted a great deal not to contrast this and equation-based Masala movies yet once you see this film you'll know it's naturally bound to happen. He gets a few nerves right Yet, the vast majority of the occasions it's simply one more endeavor to trade out the prominence of regular mass films. Ratheesh Vega's music is boisterous and riotous. Aside from title track none of the songs functions admirably. The BGM is great at certain spots. However, blasts your ears at others.

Star Performances - Jayasurya is breathtaking in his looks! He has indicated his range with such many movies however this film shouts his retirement from Masala films. Showing the two shades — one of a famous, tough man and other of a family man. Jayasurya's mass avatar is a decent watch for his fans. Swathi Reddy has nothing to do as the lead heroine. Swati has been allowed the chance to perform just in a couple of scenes. Talented actors like Sudev Nair, Sabumon and Indrans are squandered. TJ Ravi, Sreejith Ravi, Vijay Babu, Manu, Sudheer Karamana, Manikuttan, Balachandran Chullikkad are also in the cast.

Verdict - 'Thrissur Pooram' is a film that pursues the typical recipe of mass action films. It is an average fare that will appeal only to a few audiences who will like the action, in spite of the ordinary script and the irritating narrative style.
