​Theatre, art and cinema are the mediums which bonds people together, says Mahesh Bhatt.

Producer, director and screenwriter Mahesh Bhatt who was recently seen inaugurating ‘Jairangam Theatre Festival’, says that theatre, art and cinema are the mediums which bonds people together. He further added that, Mumbai may be the entertainment capital, but it gets stimulated only when people from every corners of India come and perform theatres.

Mahesh Bhatt was seen interacting with the media on Sunday in Mumbai.

‘Jairangam’ is a community celebration of arts, vibrancy, drama, excitement & beautiful colours of culture.  Since the inception of Jairangam, the festival has orchestrated more than 200 plays and over 500 nukkad nataks. It has been a great platform where more than 2500 artists have shown their creativity and work.

When asked about his take on ‘Jairangam Theatre Festival’, on this Mahesh Bhatt said, “Theatre art and cinema are the mediums which connects people with each other. Mumbai may be the entertainment capital, but it gets stimulated only when people from every corners of India come and perform theatres. This itself is a great proof.  Nowadays people want to understand and have started understanding the importance of theatres. But still it will take some more time for people to accept theatre as one of the segment of entertainment, due to the presence of digital age.

The content of entertainment in the form of smart phones is enormously available at our home and this has influenced the minds of our people to a great extent.”

Mahesh Bhatt’s upcoming project ‘Sadak 2’ is scheduled to release on 10 July 2020. The film is produced by Mukesh Bhatt, directed by Mahesh Bhatt starring Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur.
