Iconic Bollywood actress, Madhuri Dixit Nene is all set to make her Netflix acting debut with an as-yet-untitled series with Karan Johar as creative producer.
Filmmaker Karan Johar just took to his social media profile and confirmed the show. He wrote, “We've got the queen of all things beautiful & grace for an upcoming @NetflixIndia original...time to create magic in the digital space with her! @Dharmatic_ @apoorvamehta18”
The series will be a suspenseful family, written by New York-based writer-director Sri Rao, reflecting on the lives lead by people in the entertainment industry.
The series is being produced by Netflix and Dharmatic Entertainment, the digital arm of Indian filmmaker, producer and television personality Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
The official handle of Dharmatic also dropped the same. They captioned it, “Icon. Legend. Queen. @MadhuriDixit will be starring in an upcoming Netflix original. Coming soon! @karanjohar @apoorvamehta18 @NetflixIndia”
In September, Netflix entered into a long-term partnership with Dharmatic to create a range of new fiction and non-fiction series and films.
New York based-writer director Sri Rao, will be the show runner. Rao previously collaborated with Dixit on a pilot for U.S. network ABC, inspired by her life as a Bollywood superstar-turned-soccer mom in suburban America.
