Actor Saif Ali Khan, who has garnered critical and commercial accolades for his grey character in Omkara, is once again playing a grey character in Tanhaji, says he enjoy playing such roles, only once in a while.
Actor Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, Bhushan Kumar, Om Raut, Rohit Shetty, Sharad Kelkar and many more graced the trailer launch of Tanhaji in Mumbai Today.
Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior will see Saif Ali Khan in the role of Udhaybhan Rathod, who is ambitious and brutal in the film.
When asked if the actor enjoy playing grey character, Saif Ali Khan said, “Yeah, maybe, you know. I guess they must have thought of something when they asked me to play the role. It is a very special role. I think I do enjoy playing grey characters”
“I don’t know if I’d enjoy only doing such characters, but once in a while to do such character, I think it is great fun. And this is a very special part, the way Om Raut has directed it and conceived it” said Saif.
Om Raut's directorial is chronicles the life of Tanaji Malusare, unsung warrior of glorious Indian history and the military leader in the army of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, founder of the Maratha Empire.
Ajay Devgn will be seen portraying the role of Subhedar Tanaji Malusare, Saif Ali Khan as Udaybhan Rathod and Kajol in the role of Savitri Malusare.
The film also stars Luke Kenny, Sharad Kelkar, Padmavati Rao, Jagapati Babu, Devdatta Nage, Pankaj Tripathi, Neha Sharma and Ajinkya Deo in pivotal roles.
The film releases on 10th January 2020.
