Ayodhya verdict will strengthen India’s unity, integrity: Shah

New Delhi, Nov 9 (SocialNews.XYZ) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday welcomed the Ayodhya verdict and said the decision will strengthen the country's unity, integrity and great culture, as he urged all communities to maintain peace and harmony.

In a series of tweets in Hindi, Shah expressed gratitude to all the people and organisations who contributed and tried for so many years on the dispute.

"I welcome the Supreme Court's unanimous decision on the Ram birthplace. I appeal to people of all communities and religions to accept this decision with ease and remain committed to our resolve of 'Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat', full of peace and harmony," Shah said.

He said he is confident that "this landmark judgment" will prove to be a milestone. "This decision will further strengthen India's unity, integrity and great culture."

"The legal dispute of Ram birthplace, which was going on for decades, has come to a finality with this decision today (Saturday). I congratulate the justice system of India and all the judges," Shah added.

The Supreme Court on Saturday gave the 2.77 acre disputed land in Ayodhya to the Hindus and asked the government to give alternate land to the Sunni Waqf Board, which was a party to the title suit.

In the unanimous judgement, the five-member bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi directed the Centre to form within three months a trust which will build a temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya.
