Chandigarh, Oct 23 (SocialNews.XYZ) Government agencies and private millers have procured 53,84,057 tonnes of paddy or 86 per cent of the total produce in Punjab, the government said on Wednesday. A payment of Rs 4,695.65 crore has been made.
Out of the total procurement from various procurement centres, PUNGRAIN has procured 21,27,342 tonnes, Markfed 13,96,610 tonnes and Punsup procured 10,42,971 tonnes, while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation procured 6,60,686 tonnes paddy.
The Central government agency FCI has procured 83,642 tonnes.
