Though the TRS has 104 MLAs in a House of 119 members, the party has taken the ensuing by-election to Huzurnagar Assembly constituency as a matter of prestige for more reasons than merely wrest the seat from the Congress whose State president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy’s resignation on his election to the Parliament paved way for the polls.
It is, therefore, no surprise that the TRS represented by its Parliamentary party leader K. Keshava Rao, party leader in Lok Sabha Nama Nageswara Rao and Planning Board Vice-Chairman B. Vinod Kumar held consultations with the CPI leadership on Sunday seeking the Left party’s support in the election. This is the first time that the TRS has extended the hand of friendship to other parties after coming to power.
