Sangareddy: A rare snake specie called Nagarjun Sagar Racer, also known as Sharma's Racer or Coluber bholanathi, was found near Ameenpur Lake in Sangareddy district of Telangana on Sep 22, 2019. The snake which was last spotted in India in 2012 in the Seschalam forest area near Tirupathi by scientists led by Bubesh Guptha, was first identified in 1976 near Nagarjuna Sagar dam.
