Pune: Rare footage of 1948 film “Vande Mataram” comes to film archives #Gallery

Pune: Legendary writer and playwright P. L. Deshpande's nephew Dinesh Thakur and film historian Satish Jakatdar hand over a rare footage of the iconic Marathi film, "Vande Mataram" (1948) - in which Deshpande and his wife Sunita essayed the lead roles, to National Film Archives of India (NFAI) Director Prakash Magdum in Pune on July 9, 2019. Besides the film footage cassette, there are two U-Matic tape containing about an hour of rare footage of Deshpande playing the harmonium, of which he was an acknowledged exponent. (Photo: IANS)more
