The Rijksmuseum Boerhaave in Leiden from the Netherlands was declared as the European Museum of the Year in 2019. The results was announced at the closing ceremony of the European Museum of the Year Awards (EMYA) on Saturday evening in Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH's) capital Sarajevo.
