Mr. Jaitley said Mr. Gandhi and his sister and AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were directors in Backops Services Pvt. Ltd., which was registered in India in 2002, and then a company of a similar name was registered in the U.K., in which Mr. Gandhi and Mr. Mcknight were directors. It was an “influence-for-cash” company, and Mr. McKnight was married to a Congress leader’s daughter and was part of Mr. Gandhi’s “social gang”, Mr. Jaitley alleged.
Mr. Gandhi and Mr. Mcknight were registered in the same London address, which Mr. Jaitley said was owned by Ajitabh Bachchan, brother of actor Amitabh Bachchan.
