BSF sends back Pakistan national as goodwill gesture


Jammu, March 9 (IANS) As a goodwill gesture, the Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday sent back a Pakistan national who was apprehended on Friday on the international border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district.

Muhammad Ashraf, 60, a resident of Boi village in the Narowal district of Punjab in Pakistan, was apprehended by BSF troopers while he was trying to cross over to the Indian side in the Ramgarh sector of Samba district, an official said.

As a goodwill gesture and to maintain peace and tranquillity at the border, the BSF handed him over to the Pakistani rangers, the official added.
