Moroccan field hospital in Gaza becomes operational

Gaza, June 13 (IANS/MAP) Morocco's medical-surgical field hospital, deployed by the Royal Armed Forces in Gaza Strip, has become operational welcoming patients to provide the necessary care in different specialties.

Ahmed Tazi, the Permanent Representative of Morocco to the Arab League, paid a visit to the hospital with Palestinian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ghazi Hamad.

Different specialties were proposed in the hospital including cardiology, ophthalmology, ENT, gynaecology-obstetrics, traumatology, pediatrics and radiology.

It also has a laboratory for medical analysis, ambulatory care rooms and emergencies, in addition to equipment dedicated to consultations and radiology in order to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians.

"The medical staff is ready to receive patients and provide them with quality medical care in different specialties, said Col. Ahmed Bounaim, senior physician of the medical facility, in a statement to MAP.

He said the ultimate goal was to make this humanitarian mission succeed on all levels.
