Laureano Gonzalez, from Venezuela, was elected first vice president of the Conmebol council, Argentine Claudio Tapia was elected second vice president, and Chilean Arturo Salah was chosen as third vice president.
"I appreciate the vote of confidence and I assume my responsibility. I would like to recall that two years ago, when the previous election was held, the organization (Conmebol) had lost its way, it was morally bankrupt and had forgotten about soccer," Dominguez said.
The ceremony was attended by FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
In March, the Conmebol council called for new elections to take place on May 11 and urged Dominguez to run again, with the goal of "consolidating the reforms that his administration has established to make South American soccer more professional, institutional and transparent."
