Ghaziabad, Oct 21 (IANS) Minister of State for External Affairs and Ghaziabad MP General V.K. Singh (retd), along with Uttar Pradesh Minister of Power Shrikant Sharma, commissioned two 400KV power stations here on Saturday.
District Information Officer V.B. Singh said V.K. Singh and Shrikant Sharma jointly commissioned the power stations from the grounds of Shipra Mall in the Indirapuram locality of the city.
One 400KV power station, has been set up in Indirapuram and has a capacity of 2x500 MVA, while the other 400KV power station is at Ator Nagla, with similar capacity.
Over five lakh people will benefit from the commissioning of these two power stations. The state government spent an estimated Rs 900 crore on these two projects.
The commissioning of the power stations would give a boost to the Union government-sponsored Urja Mitra programme and the Rural Feeder Monitoring Scheme, benefiting both rural and urban poor populations.
