Sreedharan reviews progress of Lucknow Metro Rail project

Lucknow, Oct 10 (IANS) Principal Advisor to the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) E. Sreedharan on Tuesday reviewed the progress of the Metro rail project on the 23-km North-South Corridor (Phase 1A) from Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport to Munshipulia here.

Managing Director Kumar Keshav and other directors briefed him about the progress of this project.

Sreedharan first visited the Transport Nagar Metro Station, where he was briefed about the operational and passenger facilities provided by the LMRC at Metro stations and inside the trains.

He visited the concourse and platform of the station to see the state-of-the-art world class facilities provided for passengers from the very first day of operations. He then took a ride in the Metro from Transport Nagar Metro Station to Charbagh Metro Station and expressed happiness over the cleanliness at the stations and inside the Metro train.

Sreedharan later visited the LMRC administrative office at Gomti Nagar, where he reviewed the progress of the underground Metro work going on for the Hussainganj-Sachivalaya-Hazratganj section and the elevated section beyond K.D. Singh Babu Stadium up to Munshipulia.

He also discussed the progress of other Metro rail projects, including the Varanasi, Kanpur and Gorakhpur Metro rail projects.
