Amit Shah invites Nitish to rejoin NDA

New Delhi, Aug 12 (IANS) BJP President Amit Shah said on Saturday that he has invited Janata Dal-United, the party's new alliance partner in Bihar, to rejoin the National Democratic Alliance.

The invitation was extended to Bihar Chief Minister and party chief Nitish Kumar at a meeting of the two leaders on Friday.

"I met JD-U President Nitish Kumarji at my residence yesterday. I invited him to join the NDA," Amit Shah said in a tweet.

The 17-year-old alliance between the two parties was broken in 2013, days before the appointment of Narendra Modi as the BJP's prime ministerial candidate for 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

Nitish Kumar, also the President of the JD-U, dumped the RJD and the Congress and embraced BJP to form a new government in Bihar last month.
