Neymar can play this weekend as PSG receive transfer certificate

Paris, Aug 11 (IANS) The French Football Federation confirmed on Friday that it had received Neymar's international transfer certificate from its counterpart in Spain, which makes the Brazilian forward available for his debut with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this weekend.

Barcelona had said it would hold the transfer certificate until the French side paid the 222 million euros ($261 million) buy-out fee, reports Efe.

Four of the Brazilian player's representatives, including his lawyer, gave Barcelona a check for 222 million euros ($261 million) on August 3 before Neymar joined PSG.

The club was waiting for its bank to certify the availability of the funds, sources had told EFE.

After receiving the transfer certificate, which should have been sent earlier, Neymar should be able to play his first match with PSG on Sunday, on the road against Guingamp.

The 25-year-old Neymar on Friday took part in his fourth training session with his new club, and the first one open to the press.
