Five Egyptian security men killed in checkpoint attack

Cairo, July 14 (IANS) At least five security men were killed on Friday when militants opened fire at a checkpoint in Giza province in Egypt, an interior ministry source said.

"Two policemen and three recruits were killed in the attack at the checkpoint in Badrasheen district," Xinhua news agency quoted the source as saying.

According to eyewitnesses, "masked men on a motorbike opened fire from automatic machines before fleeing the scene".
