Istanbul, July 6 (IANS) Portugal international defender Pepe has signed a two-year contract with Turkey's top division football league champions Besiktas.
The Turkish Super League champions said in a statement on their website that Pepe, a member the Portugal squad that won the Euro 2016 title, joined them for 9.5 million euros (around $10 million) apart from other variables on Wednesday, reports Efe news agency.
The former Porto defender said on his new side's website that he was happy as Besiktas' officials worked hard to bring him in.
Pepe, who won the Champions League title three times with Real Madrid, said he got offers from England, Italy and France, but opted for the Turkish side after 10 years with the reigning La Liga champions.
