Agartala, June 13 (IANS) A Bangladeshi youth was arrested here on Tuesday for smuggling gold worth Rs 50 lakh, police said.
Mohammad Liton Ahmed, 29, on Monday came to Agartala and tried to go to Kolkata by a private airline. When the security at the airport checked him, he ran away leaving behind 15 gold biscuits and a gold chain, a police official said.
The youth was arrested while trying to return to Bangladesh.
