"The exhibition -- Textiles India 2017 -- will showcase India's strength in textiles and apparel value chain from fibre to fashion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the exhibition," Joint Secretary of Union Ministry of Textiles Puneet Agarwal told reporters.
The exhibition will cover the textile industry, comprising display of products from manufacturers, exporters and other stakeholders.
"There will be round-table conferences, fashion show, and theme pavilions of partner states Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand and Maharashtra with focus on Gujarat," Agarwal said.
According to him, the exhibition will be spread across an area of 1,25,000 square metre. Over 1,000 exhibitors are expected to participate in the exhibition. Around 30 countries are expected to showcase their products and over 2,500 international buyers from 60 countries are likely to visit the exhibition.
"Seven international conferences, 24 round-table conferences, country and state sessions, business to business, business to government and government to government meetings will be held during the three-day exhibition," he said.
