The coast guard ship was on a routine patrolling duty and sighted the partially-sunken boat at about 2.30 p.m., a Coast Guard release said.
"Six persons were seen clinging to the sinking boat and they had no other means of survival. Despite the rough sea, which not only makes such rescue difficult but also requires adept handling by the ship's crew, ICGS Rajkiran proceeded to rescue the survivors," the release said.
The rescued members were provided with first aid and food onboard.
The survivors informed that the boat belonged to Odisha and one of the crew members was missing.
"IG K.S. Sheoran, the Coast Guard Regional Commander (NE) has said that ICGS Rajkiran would continue to patrol the area in search of the missing member and hand over the survivors to Paradip," the release added.
