New Delhi, June 3 (IANS) The national capital faced scorching heat on Saturday as the maximum temperature reached 42.6 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the mercury will rise further on Sunday.
"There are chances that temperature would further rise by one degree on Sunday and there are no chances of rain on either Sunday or Monday," said an IMD official.
The minimum temperature recorded on Saturday was 28.7 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average.
Minimum humidity was 18 per cent and the maximum 64 per cent.
Friday's maximum temperature was 40 degrees, at the season's average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average.
