New Delhi, March 27 (IANS) A 30-year-old married woman was found murdered in an upscale area of south Delhi on Monday, police said.
Police said the crime came to light around 12.30 p.m. when deceased Pooja Paswan's sister and brother-in-law went to her flat in the Lajpat Nagar to enquire and found her lying in a pool of blood with stab wounds.
Pooja ran a cosmetics shop and was living alone in a rented flat. Her husband of two years, Sumit, was running a mobile phone business at his hometown Patna in Bihar, Deputy Commissioner of Police Romil Baaniya said.
Pooja's brother-in-law Govind Paswan said: "One of her friends called us today (Monday) to inquire about Pooja since she was not answering her phone calls for the last three days. We also called her but she did not answer. When we went to look for her and unlocked her flat's door, we found her dead on her bed with stab wounds."
Police is scanning closed-circuit television footage and her call details records for clues, an officer said.
A murder case was registered against unknown person (s) at the Amar Colony police station.
