Caracas, Feb 17 (IANS) At least 16 persons were killed in Venezuela after the bus in which they were travelling collided with a truck, officials said.
The accident took place in the Venezuelan state of Carabobo on the old Guigue-Valencia highway, the head of the National Directorate for Civil Protection and Disaster Management (DNPCAD), Jorge Galindo, said on Twitter on Thursday, Efe news reported.
Militarized police officers, firefighters and DNPCAD officials rushed to the scene and helped transfer the injured to nearby hospitals.
