nubia Z11 smartphone: First Impressions

New Delhi, Dec 14 (IANS) Chinese smartphone maker nubia on Wednesday launched its "bezel-less" flagship smartphone Z11 in India that also features NeoVision 6.0, a DSLR-like photography system.

The Rs 29,999 nubia Z11 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 6GB of RAM, has 64GB of internal storage and sports 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with Sony IMX298 sensor.

Here are the first impressions of the device.

The black and gold finish nubia Z11 has a unique design with great looks. Featuring a rectangular shape with metal uni-body construction, the device looks sturdy.

If you have seen nubia devices before, you will see red rings the company uses around the camera and in the front to make the device stand out from the crowd.

The rounded contoured corners around the sides and back make it easy to hold the set with one hand.

Apart from zero bezel display, another highlight is the camera that, the company claims, delivers DSLR-like images and we were impressed by its performance.

The images captured were wonderful, detailed with enough colour in them and the photos not only looked pleasant on the device but also on bigger screens.

The photos taken in low-lit environments also had decent amount of details.

Another interesting feature that the smartphone packs for easy multi-tasking is its split-screen. Swipe down from the bottom of the display and nubia Z11 splits the screen into two separate home screens.

In addition, nubia's frame interactive technology (FiT 2.0) allows to adjust brightness, switch apps and screens with the flexibility to customise their own interactive gestures and commands.

The device runs on nubia UI 4.0, based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow that ran smoothly with apps.

Overall, a real distruptive entrant in the Indian smartphone market.
