Umtiti says he knows all about Barcelona FC

Barcelona, July 16 (IANS) French central defender and Barcelona's new recruit Samuel Umtiti has acknowledged that his move to the Catalan club is a dream come true and insisted that he knows all about the football club.

The player on Friday said he wanted to come to the club, which he followed for many years, reports Efe.

Umtiti has acknowledged that one aspect that attracted him to Barcelona when he watched it on TV was the way of playing and desire to win.

He said he draws inspiration from three players in his position: Thiago Silva (PSG), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) and Gerard Pique (Barcelona).

"I am very happy to be here and share a dressing room with world class players," he said, admitting that he shed tears when the five-year contract with Barca was closed.

The move of Umtiti from Olympique Lyonnais to Barca cost 25 million euros ($27.6 million), with the clause set at 60 million euros ($66.3 million).
