UP to distribute free food material in drought-affected Bundelkhand

Lucknow, March 4 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Friday announced that his government was going to give drought-affected families of Bundelkhand free food grains and other relief material.

Speaking during a general discussion in the state assembly on the 2016-17 budget, he informed the house that approximately each of the 2 lakh Antyodaya beneficiaries will get 10 kg wheat flour, 5 kg pulses, 5 litres mustard oil, a kg of pure desi ghee and families with children will be given one kg milk milk powder and 25 kg potato.

The Chandrawal river flowing between Mahoba and Hamirpur will also be revived, the chief minister announced and said that special camps will be held in villages for enrolment of unemployed and needy and they will be given daily wages on time.
