Shiv Sena Ready to Go Along with BJP in Kalyan-Dombivali MC

Thane (Maharashtra), Nov 6 (IANS) After a bitter war of words, allies Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party are ready to join hands to administer Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation in Thane, around 60 km north of Mumbai, a BJP leader said here on Friday.

State BJP spokesperson Madhav Bhandari said BJP minister Sudhir Mungantiwar and Shiv Sena minister Eknath Shinde would meet to finalise the deal late Friday.

The development follows talks between state BJP president Raosaheb Danve and senior Sena leader and minister Subhash Desai after the November 1 election results.

After the elections to the 122-member KDMC, the Shiv Sena emerged as the largest group with 52 seats and BJP with 42 seats, both far away from the magic figure of 62.

Presently, both parties have staked claim to the KDMC mayor's post.

The Congress-Nationalist Congress Party joined hands to run the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation earlier this week.
